Author of Light My Way

’m Rachel Estyl, wife, mother, and author of Light My Way. My heart has always been to create stories that help children see

Meet the Author

Hi, I’m Rachel Estyl, and I wrote Light My Way to help children understand how powerful God’s Word can be in their everyday lives. As a parent and speech-language pathologist, I’ve seen how children light up when they discover they can be strong, courageous, and kind; not by their own strength, but through God’s. I hope your family enjoys reading this together and that it sparks meaningful conversations; helping children see how they can walk with Jesus every day.

About the book

The journey was filled with highs and lows. There were times I forgot about this idea God had placed in my prayer, thinking it was just one of those “Rachel ideas” that would never make it past my pen and paper. But God, in His sovereignty and perfect timing, knew the exact season in which this book needed to be released; despite the timeline and agenda I had in my own mind.

Throughout this authorship journey, I was stretched, humbled, and had to submit to God over and over again. I was discouraged many times and wanted to scratch everything… but God! I am so thankful for His grace, for my husband and my mother, who prayed for me and often spent time with my son so I could dedicate hours to working on Light My Way; and for friends and family, whose support and prayers carried me through.

In early 2025, Light My Way became a reality through the support of 130 amazing Kickstarter backers and was honored with the “Project We Love” badge. What started as a nudge from God in 2021, is now a book and set of Memory Verse/Reflection flashcards making their way into the hands of children and families everywhere.

Kickstarter Project that we love - Light My Way Children Book

I wrote Light My Way to help children see that God’s Word is truly “a lamp to their feet and a light to their path” (Psalm 119:105). My hope is that as you read it with your child, they will discover that they can be strong, courageous, and kind not by their own strength, but through God’s.

Your support makes it possible for this story to reach homes, classrooms, and churches, spreading God’s truth to the next generation. My prayer is that Light My Way will inspire your child to walk boldly with Christ and always remember that they are never alone. And remember, God’s Word will always light your way!
